Split BLM's @ idle and low RPM's. Any data monsters willing to take a look?

Anyone thats pretty good at checking out data be willing to look at my Freescan data on my Z? Noticed right away that I have bad split BLM's at idle (128/152) and on and off around the 2000 rpm range. I can e-mail the log file if anyone would be willing to check it out and maybe make some suggestions on what it may be and possible fixes. The low down on the mods is this: It's a 95Z with Ported and larger valve heads, ported intake, 52mm TB, Ported MAF, 24# injectors, 1.6 rockers with TPIS ZZP cam, 1 3/4" headers with a 3 1/2" cat back with high flow cat. The PCM has a program from MustGoFaster racing for all the current mods and i've also added an across the board 10% increase to the MAF tables, but thats the only change that i've made to the program so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Depending on the brand TB you have, try adjusting the throttle stop screw. I've heard of this happening when the IAC can't adjust enough.

JSK333

JSK333, thanks for the input. I remember reading about that and forgot all about it. I'll try it right away and see if it buys me anything. Still wouldn't mind someone taking a look at my logged run to see what you guys make of it if anyone is interested. Thanks again.

No help...

No help on the throttle stop screw adjustment. Still solid at 128/152 at idle. Any other suggestions? Its a 52mm Arizona Speed & Marine TB by the way. Thanks.

Have you drilled a bypass hole for the IAC stepper motor?

What are your IAC counts?

You probably need to drill or enlarge the hole bypassing the IAC motor. Take the TB off and pull the bottom plate. You will see the route the air takes. You will also see that by drilling a straight hole from front to back you can augment the air that is avail for idle. That helped me immensely.

AS&M make the best TBs money can buy so i dont think that is your problem.

what are the specs of that cam?

do you have a consistant high right BLM thru most of the cells?

rulled out exhaust leaks yet and/or bad O2 sensor?

IAC and Cells...

Pkincy, my IAC counts (if i'm looking at the spread sheet right) shows in the 60 to 70 range at around idle or when I have the split BLM. Turbo_Z, as far as which cells, it isn't split in most of the cells. Most of the big splits I see, which is consistantly high on the right when I see them is in cell 16, 17 and 18. The lower cells it's usually pretty solid at around 128/128-130. And this is all at cruise and nothing at WOT. I'm just trying to dial in my drivability right now to start. What do ya make of it? Thanks for looking guys.

I'll take a stab at this, try elongating the throttle position sensor holes it should read 6.5 or there abouts for the sensor. I did that to remedy a high MAP reading I was getting, it was giving me a DTC 33. I also think that the 24# injectors are working too hard, you might want to go with 30/36 lb. injectors to compensate. Just remember to have your PCM programmed for the injector change.

well maybe it is your TB. it sure sounds that way to me. your IAC should only read 35 at the most so what this tells me is that your car isnt getting enought air at idle. at some point your IAC will max out but i dont remember what value that is. there is a "fix" for this fortunately.

im sorry im not even going to try to explain how to do it but do a search for split BLM fix and you MIGHT find the thread where some guy put in a bypass that added more air w/o opening the TB blades. ill try to find it and post a link if i do.

EDIT:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ghlight=tb+fix

this is a very informative link and will fix your problem without having to drill into your expensive throttle body.
