I have no damn clue why i can't program a chip right. I have a moates adapter, eprom, eprom burner, eprom eraser, and tunercat, and still can't get it right.


Can anybody give me a step by step?????

What exactly is happening?

Make sure you set your programmer to Device= AT29C256.

 

I'm still using 27c256's. I got 2 more, same result. Nobody local sells a 29xxx chip. Will a 28256 work??

 

I thought you bought a adapter from Craig Moates??

IF you didn't go ahead and get one. One way or the other he sells 29C256 chips.

Tuning with 27C chips is almost impossible. I've had them last 12 burns and I've had them go bad after 2-3 burns.

Usually what happens is either the chip will not program. Get threw half and stop. Or it willl program and verify but will not work in the computer.

I have never had a 29C chip go bad.

 

Well here's what really throws me. I had to be a cheapskate and get a programmer from futurelec, but it uses pocket programmer software, so i think they are really the same. I don't know, maybe i'll try a 29c chip in this, if that doesn't work i'll buy a pro chip and work the rest out later. Thanks for the help, i'll be getting with you soon about some programming.
