shifting problems...TPS?
shifting problems...TPS?
a long time ago, i had a zex nitrous system on my car, and i had to put the activation wire on the TPS wire....ends up i had to cut the wire and tie all of them together so the signal was clear enough to make it spray.
now, i have a wet system with NX solenoids and a microswitch on the throttle on a relay, a more traditional setup if you will
i repaired my TPS wire by soldering it back and wrapping it in electrical tape to protect it. my tps has already gone bad once, and i replaced it about a year ago.
now the car is acting funny on cold start expecially. it throws an SES light (dont know the code, will get on that in the next few days), but it goes away after a short while. the tune i have from pcmforless is supposed to have the egr and air tuned out, as i have removed the air pump, and have the egr blocked off, but the stuff on the back of the intake manifold is still there. just no metal tube from the headers
my question is, could the wires from the TPS have gotten corroded and cause hte car not to shift properly, it shifts at 3000rpm very very hard (trans is freshly rebuilt, and it did this problem before the rebuild) and i have no lockup or 4th gear during this problem.
now after the car has warmed up, and i stop it, and let it sit for a lil bit, it'll crank up, go back to normal idle, no SES light, and shift fine, and lockup will engage. i'm just at my wits end on this thing, and if i can ever get freescan to connect or datamaster to work i'll run some datalogs while i'm doing this to help out, but i'm having computer issues with that too.
any help here is great. thanks!!!

yeah, i'm just having problems getting freescan to connect to the car
i'm too mad right now to work on the car anyways, if i go out there now and try to work on it, i'll mess something up.
one lesson i learned hte hard way several times
lol, i'll get taht code info soon.
