Shift points strategy?

Have a B-body (Roadmaster) with a LT1 with mild cam (1000-5000, duration @0.050: 210/220, Valve lift 500/510), 1.6 Roller Rockers, Bee Hive valve springs, LT4 'Vette valve covers, headers, 2400 stall TC and 3.23 gears with Eaton posi.

These gears are the highest possible with the cam, 3.42 would have been another good choice, so would 3.73 but I didn't like the RPMs on the highway so went with a higher gear. They are a little slow in city driving but OK on the highway. My target was 2000-2100 RPMs at 70 cruising speed for least engine wear, no noise and OK mpg.

If 3.23 end up not working for me, I can always put 3.42 in it, which should be the best compromise gear.

Anyway, sending the PCM back to PCMforless people to reflash it for 3.23 gears. I want to know which shifting strategy I should pick. Should I go with performance shifting, or will it annoy me with shifting at higher RPMs? Honestly I don't care about performance much, just want a decent daily driver with reasonable power and good MPG and least noise.
But does it make sense to go with stock shift points given my engine is not stock? Maybe it makes sense to get a little performance out of that combo without all the liabilities of low gears?
