Shift point problem.....

I had a speed shop adjust my computer for the new gears I put in. He also changed some torque settings & fuel/air settings. He was using a laptop & some LS1 edit software. My speedo reads correctly now but when lightly accelerating, my car jumps through the gears. If I barely give it any gas, I am in 4th by 24mph. If I punch it from a dead stop, it shifts around 3000 rpm. The speed shop says someone has messed with my shift point tables & they will need to take another look at it. I never had the problem before. I switched from 2.73 gears to 4.10 gears. Does anyone know what could have caused this?

Thanks!

Also, if I bought a Hypertech programmer or a LS1 edit package, would it still work now that my PCM is not stock?

I am debating on buying the LS1 edit software... Anyone know what my shift settings should be at?

Sounds like the speed shop is the one that messed it up. They should fix it.

Re: Shift point problem.....

Kinda what I was thinkin'. The only thing I saw the guy do with my tranny was he said "do you want me to disable CAG" & then he noticed I have an automatic & said nevermind.... He did point out that my limit was set to 245mph. He stated that someone has been into the PCM before. I know that my 94' Z28 was set to 115 or so from the factory but I don't know what the 01's are set to.

Re: Shift point problem.....

FYI...
I ended up going to Dragon Racing. They are the best! The tuner that screwed up my shift points had also advanced my timing way too much & set my fuel curves incorrectly. The car runs better than it ever has.
