ses light, knock sensor

i've had the knock sensor completely turned off for about 2 weeks now. i'm now getting an service engine soon light on the dash. i had it scanned and its code 43 electronic spark control failure. in the book its listed as knock sensor circuit.

is the car currently in some kind of open loop "safety mode" or is the car running still at its full potential even with teh ses light?

How did you have it "turned off"?
Programming or resistor?

If the knock retard tables have been zeroed in the programming, the car will perform just the same. Otherwise, it will retard the timing to maximum allowed in the KR tables. (15 degrees for most cars)

That code could be either the knock sensor, the module or the wire.

it was turned off using the tunercat program. all the knock retard tables have been zeroed.

Am i getting the light due to teh knock sensor being turned off or is it something else? I have a lt4 knock module.
