i flashed my pcm which is an obd1 converstion with a program from pcm4less. my ses light has been on since i did this. i then used freescan to scan the pcm and try and find what the engine light was for. The software showed code 43 esc failure which i think has something to do with knock retard? the knock retard was fluctuating between 0 and 5 degrees and the knock count was climbing the more i stepped on the gas. the car is running very rich also. i was told this could be from the ses code. any help to trace out this problem would be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

DTC 43 for OBD-1 is for the Knock Sensor (KS) circuit. It could be a bad knock sensor, it could be a wiring problem, it could be a problem with the knock sensor module located in the PCM, or the PCM could be bad. Your best bet is to follow Shoebox's knock sensor circuit test procedure presented here. Good luck.
