G'day all, i have just bought a 1986 IROCZ R/H/D, ok it drives really well, the problem i have is when i go and put my foot down to drive off(gas pedal) the service light comes on, when i brake it goes off, any ideas as to why this is happening, cheers for your help, Jon

 

Have you checked to see if there are any trouble codes stored?

 

Do you realize you can flash the trouble codes on the check engine light by shorting a couple of the pins in the ALDL connector. Should be the same procedure as shown here:

Did you check the cas cap O Ring? Its a pressurized fuel system, and that is a common problem!
