My brother has a 2002 Silverado truck, 4.8L engine, 4 speed auto, 4x4. His security light is on and he sometimes has trouble getting the car to stay started. It'll start but immediately die, wait about 5-10 minutes, it'll start. He isn't getting any DTC codes, only the security light. I don't know too much in regard to the security systems on these trucks, but if they are anything like the early LT1s, the security system is probably causing it. Other than this, the truck runs perfect. Is there someway to reset the system, or is it like the VATS system on the F-body, where you have to pull it and rewire if it goes out?
