retuning a car with lt1 edit

buying a t/a with a 396. Its already tuned close but not dyno tuned. Would I be able to get someone to dyno tune it and change for gears and stuff like that? Would it have to be an lt1 edit only tuner, just that I've heard they are vin locked and I might not be able to get into it. thanks

LT1EDIT and the other LT1 tuning programs, as far as I know, do not restrict access to the PCM after they've programmed it, so anybody with either LT1EDIT or any other LT1 PCM editor (like Tunercat) will be able to get into it and program it for you.

lt1 edit

thats what I wanted to hear I think most of the tuners around here use tunercats so I hope they'll be able to work with it. I have a tunercats program and datamaster on my laptop but have never even hooked it to my car to try to use it just hoping I'll run into someone that can show me how it all works somtime. thanks

Can anyone else verify this also?
