First thing you need to do is pull your current stock .bin file out of your car. "Read PCM" so that you have a baseline of what your currently running. Put this file into a safe place and make a backup so if you screw anything up you can always go back to the original tune.
After you get that read, backup created and stored safely you can start simple. Idle adjustment, turn the fans on earlier, adjust the gearing (if applicable), etc....
Best thing you can do is use the search feature here and read, read, read, read, take a break and read some more. It's a lot to learn - i'm nowhere close right now but the learning part is cool as hell.
