Question on running the LT1 with a non OD transmission

I am considering running a TH350 behind a 94-95 LT1. I would be using the PCM as normal and just replacing the 4L60E with a TH350 transmission. ( The 4L60E is NG and I dont need overdrive since the car has a 3:08 gear) As long as I put in a VSS output from the trans to the PCM will the computer function as normal? Will I get a service engine light since the computer will not be controlling or getting feedback from the transmission other than the vss? Would it be better to have the PCM flashed to a M6 program to eliminate the PCM trying to control the trans? This is going into a 68 chevelle so there are no issues with the trans swap, its already there

I don't know what reluctor gear and VSS sensor they use on a TH350, but with the TH400, it has a 40-tooth reluctor, and you need an A4 program to get the speedo to work right. The M6 program looks for a 16-tooth signal. You would have the A4 controls "programmed out" of the PCM. Alternatively, Dakota Digital makes a speedo interface box that allows you to convert the signal from the TH350 VSS to match whatever program you have in the PCM. With that, you could run an M6 program, and just have the skip shift and reverse lockout circuits bypassed.

Thanks Fred!
Would tuner cat work to disable the the unneeded items from either program? I am doing a few more LT1 to older car conversions so it may be better to get setup to do the stuff myself.
I read a bunch of posts last night, is it true I can put a 700r4 tail shaft on the TH350 along with the reluctor ring and sensor to make factory style setup? If so that will make things easier to get working and I can change the gear ratio in the PCM as needed.

Yes tuner cat is what i used to tune out other trans functions and turn off SES light. When i did mine years ago I used the cable driven speed "sensor" if you call it that in an old trans. Than dakota digital also makes a cable and sensor with two wires that screws onto the cable drive on the trans than you either hook it to a dip switch box or to your speed sensor wires, with the two wires on the new sensor. Hope this helps, Eric L
