Question about OBD I and II

I have a 95 camaro that has the OBDII plug. The posts i've read say the 95's are still OBD I. Can you use the OBDII scanners that are available to read codes and monitor engine stats?

My buddy has a '95. It's OBDI with an OBDII 16 pin DLC also. You need an OBDI scanner with a cable that'll connect to the DLC, or jumper the pins between the scanner/DLC.
