Proper way to perform a data log?

I have autotap and I'm going to need help analyzing a data log once I'm given the recommended procedure. Do I start the log on a cold start up let it idle awhile, cruise around town @ 40 to 45mph and mix in a few WOT runs? What's the total time one would need for a datalog; 5 to 15 minutes? I don't want to waste anyones time looking at my log if I didn't do everything that I'm supposed to do.

Your opinions are appreciated.

I would drive it around and try to hit as many operating conditions as possible (part throttle and WOT, different speeds, etc.). Then just go back to each condition and see how it's running.
