Program: LS1 Edit

so i was told that a '96 and '97 LT1 have an OBD II computer? if this is true then would LS1 edit work on it? if not wut can you use that is similar to it. cause i was thinking about getting it and having my uncle who works at the dealer teach me how to use it. does anybody think that LS1 edit is worth the money, like $600?

LT1 edit was first and designed for your LT1 ride.

And how is this an LS1 engine question? It's a computer/tuning question and we have a forum for that.

LS1 edit is not worth the $600 they want for it, however HP Tuners Pro is worth the $650. EFI Live would even be better the LS1 edit. None of the programs I listed will work on the LT1 PCM (any year). Tunercats and LT1 Edit are about the only 2 for the LT1.

if your problem is getting something for your obdii i think you can just get a different cord for either lt1 edit or tunercats so you can use it for your lt1 like us obd i guys do

Each new iteration of PCM is upgraded and needs its own editor. It's not just a cable change.

Yep +1 it's the software to match the PCM that's the problem, only three types of cables for F-Body OBD1 up to 1994, OBD1.5 1995 (OBD1 with an OBD2 aldl connector) and OBD2 1996 and up... For OBD2's read up on Jet Dynamic Spectrum Tuner s/w it runs about $400.00 about the lowest around for PC based programmers.
