Is it possible to convert from a 92 LT1 to 94 flash PCM without problems?
Is it possible to convert from a 92 LT1 to 94 flash PCM without problems?
I would keep it in Speed density anyways, but I would love the added convenience of flash programming... Is it possible??
Or how can I add the flash programmin utility to the 92 pcm??
Can I just resocket, change to a flash chip and work?? not entirely sure about that though..

THanks

You can't add flashing properties to the 92/93 ECM.
You can replace it with a EEPROM though so you don't have to erase it with an UV eraser every time.
As far as converting, it isn't that simple. A 94+ harness is required and a 94+ PCM. On top of that, you will need heated oxygen sensors and bottom TB plate swap. (the IAC valve is not compatible with the newer valve. You may get away with just swapping the connector on the harness, however, I am not sure if the signal outputs are the same between the two valves).
You will need to modify the transmission connectors if it's an automatic and program accordingly so that the PCM can control the TCC lockup. Easier on a 6 speed though.
Finally, the engine harness is not compatible with the 92/93 interior harness. You will need to rewire the engine to interior connectors and/or swap places of the wires accordingly.
I have gotten to this step and had no desire to go further since I didn't have the time and the wiring diagrams at the time.
I suspect you will also need to convert to a 94+ gauge cluster since the tach output is different on the 93. A 94-96 cluster board will do though.
Make your own conclusions out of this.
PS. I have everything I need for your PCM. You can just send me your BIN and paypal if you're still interested.
