Please help with computer problem.

Ok I've been battling this problem since i finished the whole winter project. I went and had it looked at where my friend works at. They scanned it and found that it was throwing 7 or 8 different codes. The car is just studdering like crazy and sounds like its gonna fall flat on its face. Could my whole pcm chip be bad or would it be a short somewhere? Im thinking that a short would only throw 1 or 2 different codes not 7 or 8. It might have been a voltage spike or something that would have caused the pcm to take a dump.

You haven't mentioned anything about your car, year make, model, tranny type and nothing about the project either. We can't help without any of that information.
