please help answer my noob questions.

First let me say I have searched for this and have not been able to find any good info.

I have a 96 z28 a4 so I know it is a straight obd2 setup.

I wanted to be able to adjust this like timing and shifing points and firmness, eliminate the speed limiter, change the point at witch the cooling fans turn on and off and things like that.

I don't know if this is possible but I wanted to also make the conversion to a m6 and I'm wondering if any of the programs will allow me to change the pcm when I make the switch.

from what I can tell the tunercat software will not work on obd 2 so that one is out. then I was looking at lt1 edit and that was like $550 for one pcm is lt1 edit my only option? would I be better of sending my pcm to one of the programmers? and having them do it for me?

after I get one of these programs does it allow me to pull the codes from the system when the ses light comes on?

Thanks for any help.

LT1 edit is currently the only editor for obd2 right now. If these are the only parameters you will be changing you probably should look into one of the tuners on this board.

To read/clear codes you will need one of a couple of scanners available. I use Autotap for this.
