Performance Mode Switch for LT1?
I was looking at the LT1edit software today and it has two different modes...a performance and regular. I asked a guy about it and he said that's because you can tune the car with the performance and regular and rig a switch that goes to your PCM that you can change on the fly. Like if your just driving around it isn't as "aggressive" of a tune but when you wanna race you flip the switch and it changes it to the performance mode without stopping it can do it on the fly. Anyone ever hear of this?
the earlier T/A's had the switch. it just changes the trans tables to shift it different usually higher MPH. the wire is under the passenger side kick panel. it is a light blue wire, just get a switch so when its closed its grounded
I did it about two weeks ago in my 96 Z28. It was a bit harder because the wires coming from the PCM were removed from the harness for that year on. I had to get the terminals and wire from the PCM. I also added a led that lets you know when you are in performance mode. Its ok, you can switch between both states by pushing a button. The shifts are more agressive and firmer in performance mode.
