Re: pcmforless vs. madz28 vs. hypertech

I had the hypertech before I went to the HOT cam. It was OK at best.
As to the pcmforless vs madz28, you will have to make your own decision.
I went with MadZ28 and could not be happier (even after making 2 door stops with the computers - 100% MY fault not Ion's). The car runs great now that I have it up and running again. A header install on these cars sucks A$$.

I dont quite know how MadZ works but i can tell you that PCMforless sends you a new UNTESTED PCM...... And there have been instances where a PCM has been DOA. The previous owner of my 97 had this happen to him right before he sold me it.

Haven't had experiences with Hyptertech or MadZ, but I can vouch for PCM's for less. IMO, they are the most knowledgable tuners for LT1's.

I'll make it easier, make it Pcmforless vs. Madz28 Hypertech in my opinion is really only good for lower your running temps and for gear changes. Not wortth it for what they charge for one of the programmers. You can't go wrong with a tune from either of the mail-order tuners.
