P0400 code
P0400 code
After I bought the car last month the SES light comes on
Just my luck. Well I took it to AZ and the only code it spit out was P0400. Egr flow malfunction. The rep told me I would need a new EGR and solenoid. I am wary of doing this cuz the searches I have done show the prob usually doesn't go away. I have stock exhaust manifolds, so does that mean I should just replace the parts and see what happens? I mentioned the manifolds since headers and EGRs don't get along.
Is the EGR a pain to replace? I know it's on the back of the intake manifold, just don't know if it is something a novice should take on. Does it hurt anything not to replace it ASAP? Thanks in advance for your input.
(Yes I did use the search function, but almost 99% of the problems were related to having headers. Just wanted to see what I should do since I have no headers)

Shoebox has a good photo of the EGR components. The valve is held on by two studs with 1/2" nuts.
