Ok guys, big question please.
Ok guys, big question please.
Ok I have a 91 camaro I just swapped a LT1 & t56 into from a 95 trans am. I have the cable and the software to program out the EGR and Vats.
However, I don't have a donor v8 fourth gen to do the initial program so I can fire my baby up with the computer.
Now my brother in law has a 95 V6 3.4 camaro. Can I unhook his wiring to the computer, plug the 95 trans am PCM into his connections, turn the key and program out vats and EGR and plug his back in and fire mine up? Thanks.

Ok, I have my old thirdgen wiring harness i have to splice in with the fourth gen for the lt1. Im not gonna splice the ALDL connector right away (AKA can't disable vats using my thirdgen). NOw my brother in law has a 4th gen 95 v6. Can I unplug his computer, and plug the 95 lt1 computer in and remove Vats, CAGS, and egr using his ALDL port and just plug his computer back so I can fire my car up?
Yes, I realize it can be done, but like I said I don't plan on hooking the ALDL up immediatley, I just want the car running for now. Which is why im asking, since I really just need to give the PCM power, can I hook it up to the v6 fourthgen and put the key on 'on' and just reflash.
