One of the GM PIDs for OBD-II is Delivered Torque which a compliant scanner would be able then to report the torque output.

Its damn close I have compared the scanner while being on a chassis dyno and the PCM does a better job for all engine loads and what the Torque output is since GM uses it to protect drivetrain and use of some safety functions.

I really appreciate the responses to this question, especially the info
on Ease from Team ZR1. I have looked closer at Ease and
AutoTap (since my tuner uses it), and AutoTap is $279 with enhanced
parameters versus $350 for Ease, plus I can share files with the tuner.
It seems like both will provide the same data and it's a bit more seamless
using AutoTap for my tuner.
Are there any interface problems with AutoTap that would justify the $71
difference in price? As I said earlier, I will be running this on a Mac Powerbook
with Virtual PC XP.

Autotap does not have bi-directional, Ease does.
Autotap has had bugs for years never fixed such as the delivered torque parameter reports bogus values, Ease reports correctly.
Ease already has the new GMLAN interface so its ready to connect to newest model years, autotap does not.
As they say you get what you pay for. . .

If you don't mind could you explain bi-directional? Not sure I totally understand.
Also thanks for the info.
Re: OBDII Scanning Solution Needed
Bi directional is a test mode that allows you via the Ease scanner to send commands to the PCM.
As example you think 1 injector is sticking, you send a command just to that one and add or remove fuel ( pulse width time) and then watch with the scanner if the fuel trims or fuel cell changes.
Or your crank position sensor needs to be relearned, with Ease you send the CASE relearn command to the PCM while at 4,000 RPMs while parked.
Or your sitting at the drags at staging lane and want to turn fans on to cool engine down you can command low or high fans on.
You want to test something while parked and you can give a command to raise the RPMs.
This is for a temp condition, you cannot turn soemthing on and then go turn something else also on for if you do the 1st function on is turned off and then other function goes on. if you turned fans on, it would stay on until you either turn it off, command something else or stop the scanner.
So there is like 20 plus functions you can command from testing the CAGS or reverse of MM6 to turning AIR pump or relay on

When you get it then you can contact me and I will teach you how to use it and make the best use of all the functions it has.
Re: OBDII Scanning Solution Needed
Yes the Personal version is GM enhanced OBDII and supports all PIDs other modules in the car has.
They also have a generic version and that would support only EPA required parameters.
