Obd2 tunercat and knock retard questions..?

I have a 96z28.Its got bad knock retard and can't figure out why.It appears to be false.Have not tried race gas or xylene/toluene blend to raise octane but it gets it off idle and at random times.Nothing appears to be hitting under the car.I my have some lifter knock though.I have lt4 km also.
I am almost ready to use resistor mod and switch to kill this darn knock retard. Its killing power big time and is very frustrating.

Does the obd2 tunercat let me desensitize the knock sensor but still leave it functioning for real knock?
I am ready to drive the car into a lake!!!

I get no funny codes ,car has 66,000 miles on it.Stock opti ,wires and plugs I think.I have changed out fuel injectors to svo 30s. I have tested fuel pressure to see if I am leaning out at wot.Seems to hold pressure. I have new racetronix pump and adjustable fuel reg to install and zex wet after that but won't install the nitrous until figure out the weird know.
I run only premium 91 to 92 in the car.

So will tunercat ob2 do what I need?
I have a very similar problem in the 92 turbo talon that used to own.I solved it with a chipped ecu that had knock elimination type code.It still let thru real knock and made tuning simple after the phantom knock was gone.

Yep you sure can. Go to the spark tables choose Max spark retard vs. RPM (PE mode) adjust it to your desire.

There are a Knock Fast Attack Rate (higher # means more aggressive KR) and Knock Recovery Rate (higher # means faster KR will be removed) tables that will alter the sensitivity of the sensors. I would adjust those tables first before disabling it with the Max Retard table.
