obd1 vs obd2

Which is the best for tunning? I am thinking of doing an LT1 swap into my 73 Z28 and was wondering which year LT1 to go with. I am not going with the 93 because of the chip burning, I do know that. Any insight would be great. Thanks,
Joshua

the 95 OBD1 pcm is cheaper to tune with overall. Need obd1 cable with obd2 connector (don't ask). However you can only program the PCM while car is off.. and it takes about 3-4min to program each time.

The 93 obd1 pcm is a uv sensitive one, but if you buy ~200$ chip you can replace it and then tune on the fly (even when engine is running) and programming takes only seconds.

if you want cheap 95 obd1.. if you want tuning on the fly obd1 93

So how is the OBD2 compare to the OBD1. I really don't care about on the fly or not I just want to be able to tune it once upgrades are made.

almost exactly the some programming wise, but you'll need an obd2 programmer thats going to be like 200-300$ from jet. LS1 edit would so work but is ~500$

If you're doing your own tuning, OBD1 is much cheaper.

If you're paying to have it tuned, the cost is usually the same, and there are a lot more places that are equipped for OBD2.
