obd1 question
ok heres the deal,im buidling a stroker 420 for my 87 roc ,and im keeping all the emissions and quadrajunk(i have emission testing here so i have to)anywas my ? is i was talking to crane cams about a cam and he said i would have trouble even starting it for several reason s,but i tend to disagree with the obd1 system,i mean what does it really sense or adjuster for that would be effected by switching engines and adding performance parts.i mean it is a simple system thats based of temps, knock sensors and o2,so i dont see why it would effect it.granted it may not pass emissions anymore(who cares) but i dont se why it wouldnt start or even run ..any advice or suggestions

Re: obd1 question
It wont start or run if its a aggresive cam, then you just have to tinker with your timing and such to get it running, if its a mild cam you probably wont have any issues. OBDI and OBDII are justb ways of Diagnostics and such, one has one o2 senser the other has 2 and a few other goodies, but I don't see how having OBDI will make your car not strat with thast cam, I don't follow that either.

Re: obd1 question
Your 420cu.in. engine should have no major problem starting if you learn to program your own Eprom chips.
I have a 395cu.in. stroker in my MAFed '87 car. I just started it up yesterday after sitting in ice and snow for 6 weeks.
