OBD II Readiness Help
Re: OBD II Readiness Help
no prob what so ever! I have a thread on it somewhere but I didnt get what I was looking for.
So far the progress looks promising...I did it on wednesday, let it run for about 30 minutes; let it run again on thursday for another 30 minutes; and I actually drove the car today for about 40 minutes total. The SES light has NOT come on yet so I'm not sure if it has had time enough to check over everything or not. I'll keep everyone posted! Thinking about getting it inspected right now since its 5 months over due!

Re: OBD II Readiness Help
Was looking on the IL EPA site, and came across the link http://www.obdiicsu.com/
I got some pretty cool info there. It looks like that statement is true. We are allowed to have no more then 2 "ready" codes missing/not coming up, in order to pass.
So even if my AIR and EGR is not showing "ready" status. As long as i have no SES light on. And no codes present. And I pass the gas cap test. Then Im all good. I get paid next weekend. And Im going to go in for the test the following weekend probably, and pay $20, to see if she will pass. I think she will.

Re: OBD II Readiness Help
I have plans somewhere on how to make an egr sim. I had to format my hard drive and don't have it on my computer any more, but did print it out.
A member of this board came up with the idea. You need weather pack connectors that match up to the MAP sensor and the MAP sensor plug. You also need a 75ohm resistor and a relay. The relay then runs to the egr solenoid. I have a drawing of how it works, but no way to scan it right now.
The guy got the weather pack connectors and relay from NAPA but didn't have part numbers, so I can't help any there.
I haven't had the time or motivation to go to NAPA to get the weather pack connectors or relay.
