OBD I conversion

i recently purchased a 95 obd I pcm for my camaro..

Are they just plug and play so to speak or is there any modification needed to use one? i read somthing about soldiering somthing to another thing? sorry about being vague!

You need to change to the OBD1 knock sensor.

No. The knock sensor is screwed into the block drain plug on the passenger side of the block. The OBD-II sensor has a 100Kohm resistance. OBD-I has a 4.5Kohm resistance. You either have to swap the sensors, or add a resistor in the PCM. The "lil chip in the pcm" is the knock module and the same one is used for OBD-I and OBD-II.
