O2 Sensor & WideBand Setup

I'm planning on purchasing & installing the AEM 30-4100 UEGO wideband and wanted to know if I could put the wideband o2 in place of one of the narrow band o2s (to prevent adding an additional bung) if I'm currently running an open loop tune. Couldn't I completely remove both narrow band O2s if I wanted to without causing trouble codes?

Re: O2 Sensor & WideBand Setup

Should work if you are "Open Loop", you are not using the O2's at all. . You may have to go into the tune and turn off the O2 diagnostics to prevent a DTC. I kind of recall the PCM still tests the O2 circuit at start-up even if it's in Open Loop. It applies 450 mv bias voltage to O2 lead and checks it is on the other lead back to the PCM. Or you could leave the removed O2 connected to the harness and tied back, but remember the O2 heater still gets the O2 hot, so keep it away and clear of flammables... The O2 DTC may cause problems, or just be an annoying SES light.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I'll just remove the O2 DTC checks within my tune and see if that works.
