o2 sensor probs, and more........

I'm having a prob with my o2's. I just put new ones in last weekend, and I was running the car today with my laptop and watching the reading's and my left o2 would never read above 100 mv. Why would it be doing this? I did log a code (32 if I remember correctly) which said left o2 sensor failure, and then it was also code 44 which is saying its lean. I also have noticed I am getting a backfire through the exhaust, and its been kinda cutting out around 3k or under. Full throttle is just fine.

I have an exhaust leak that I am in the process of getting fixed. Its pretty bad too. But the o2's before had 140k on them. And before I pulled the motor it kept throwing o2 codes. So I figured I needed them either way. I am gonna check extensions for the sensor to make sure they are not burnt from the headers.

Checked most of the wiring today and it all seems good. Still working on the exhaust leak though. The first primary on the driver side that slips into the rest of the header (hookers) just won't seal up. So I am gonna take it off and have it flared out a little. The other o2 was reading way high (like 850+ mv). This has me stumped.

I'd get that leak fixed and then re-evaluate.

Would this cause my f'd up o2 readings?? Even on the opposite side of the leak?
