Can anyone look at these Datamaster logs?
Can anyone look at these Datamaster logs?
I finally got a cable that works with my laptop, so I've spent the last day or two taking various logs. I don't really know if I should be attempting to capture anything specifically, but the reason I'm curious about the logs is my gas mileage. I get a fairly steady 11-13 in the city, and 13-15 on the highway.
I'm fine with that mileage if nothing is wrong, but want to be sure there is nothing wrong.
This first thing I noted is the code 32 I have set.
Last time I saw this code set, it was accompanied by a SES light.
I have NOT seen the SES within the last year or so, so pulling this code was a complete surprise to me.
I also want to note that the previous owner did a poor sealed opti to vented conversion. I thought the idea was worthwhile but cleaned it up using this information.

It is noteworthy, because I T'ed the EGR solenoid vacuum line for a vacuum source. Could this be causing my code 32?
After seeing this fault code (32), I pulled the EGR. Of note was that the valve holds a vacuum very well, but in the default state there is some leaking between passages 2 and 3 in this picture -if you blow into the area that the pintle(?) seats, air comes out the square hole. I can see that this is how the valve works when a vacuum pulls the pintle free from its' seat, but how well should it shut when seated? I'd say mine is blocking 95%. I can get air through it, but its nowhere near as free flowing as when the pintle is pulled back in open operation.

I'm almost certain that is supposed to be normal, because to gasketless metal surfaces such as the pintle(?) and the seat don't strike me as air tight enough to keep small leaks from happening. Just thought I'd mention it though.
Lastly, 2 years ago when I bought the car from a crooked car dealer -it had been throwing a code 32. The got me a replacement EGR valve, which certainly looked new (they said the bought it from Kraigen?). As such I'm assuming the valve itself can't be bad.
I also checked all lines to and from the EGR system. All held a vacuum.
The car is fairly stock. TPiS did tuning and added a "Fast Pack" to the car for the previous owner.
So;
What might be causing my NON-SES code 32?
Is there any sign of where my poorer than normal mileage is coming from?
