No cats, how to take of engine lights
I took the cats of my car and am running straight pipes but as expected the check engine light came on and now i will be running hooker non emission pro comp. Headers soon how can i make the check engine light go off with these mods done to the car thanks let me know if you can offer any help as i dont like seeing the check engine light on and lol everyone say something when they see it on.. Whats wrong with your car the check engine light is on lol
...
do i send in my computer to them or something how is this process done? and what does it cost? when getting a dyno tune can this be done at that time?? thanks for the help... i tell you this site is great!!
Trifecta Performance is a Supporting Vendor on this site. Click on the "Supporting Vendor" link at the top of every page, directly under the pop-up advertising. While he's tuning out the emissions codes, he can also pick up a few extra HP by leaning out the WOT A/F ratio.
You can send your PCM, and they flash it and return it. Or its possible for some tuners to send a new program via e-mail attachment, and have you install it.
Its also possible to install "O2 sims" in the wiring harness connectors, in place of the real O2 sensors. They provide a signal that replicates the O2 sensors, and fool the PCM into believing they are still there. The sims are getting harder to find though, since Casper Electronics got fined $70,000 by the EPA and forced to stop making them. But once you delete the AIR and EGR, you have to have the PCM retuned to eliminate the codes.

All this is very true, but if you know a little about electronics, you can build your own O2 sims. It isn't very hard and it'll cost you less than $20 total. You can do a search on the web for the schematics and if anyone wants any help with building one, PM or email me and I'll tell you want you need or send you a copy of the schematics.
