Just downloaded the TC demo but I cant figure out how to get started. I've installed the files and the window comes up but I cant figure out how to get started from there. Ive tried opening the ecm_42 files but I get nothing. How do you get started?

You will need to purchase the EE calibration for $19.95 to be able to work on lt1 files.

Tuner Cat

Tuner Cat comes with a default calibration file $42 for the 1227747 ECM for 87-91 K/C trucks and vans. However TC does not provide you with a free chip binary image file (eprom) because in most cases it won't be the one you need and unless the 1227747 ECM is what you have then you'll need to purchase the correct calibration file from TC for your ECM. There are plenty of sites from which can download the bin file you do need, or borrow a EPROM burner and copy your chip to a binary file.
Copy the bin file to the TC directory or be sure to change the default path (under files>default path.)
When you open the program in the title bar (blue bar at top of window) you should see "C.A.T.S. Engine Tuner ECM:ECM_42 and the only items you can choose on the Menu Bar are file, options, and help.

When I open a file this is added to the end of ECM_42 in the blue bar, "Source C:\Program Files\CATS\Tuner\$42 bin files\abul.bin
"C:\Program Files\CATS\Tuner\$42 bin files\" is the directory I store the binary files for the 1227747 ECM" and abul.bin is just one of serveral binary files I have downloaded from the Internet.
From the Menu Bar click file>open if you have a bin file it will be listed in the "Open File" window. choose a file.
Now the only change is that the menu choice "Tables" is no longer grayed out.
From The Menu Bar click on Table and a drop-down pick list will open, choose the ECM switch table, this is where you can disable the anti-theft.

If you need help just ask.

On the tunercat website it says that it includes the ecm_42.bin file. But I looked at all the files I downloaded from tunercat for the demo and there are no .bin file. Just two ecm_42 files, one of which is a .chm file and the other is a .tdf file.
