new heads and cam in, blm's really high?

okay put in new heads cc306 cam. new 30lb. injectors..58mm t.b. and madz28tune. did a datalog, I am way off..

at idle closed loop: map sensor 2.74 volts.
tps sensor .64
left block learn 160
right block learn 160
block learn cell 16
left integrator 240
right integrator 170
idle 900rpm's
spark advance 25'

My blm's are really high, is that too lean or rich? I have wot fuel pressure set at 43.5 lbs. with my afpr..
any ideas...

That is lean. How do the BLMs look at part throttle?

Re: new heads and cam in, blm's really high?update.help

well got the injectors going, the clips were off that hold them to the rail..still did not change anything.. blm's are still at 160 on each side. only exhaust leak is on the y-pipe on the drivers side after the 02 and the collector, going to get it welded up in the morning, could that cause it. it smells really rich now I guess dumping fuel to compensate.. cannot find any other problems, could it be the tune... car is surging at lower rpm's I hope from the lean problem, could it be the opti making it run lean and surge? when getting on it, it seems fine, and idles fine. checked plugs today they are alittle white, but they only have about 2 1/2 hrs. running time on them. no other leaks found.. I am leaning towards the tune, but I don't know much about these things..

Re: new heads and cam in, blm's really high?

If a cylinder misfires it will will cause a lean reading by the o2. A missfire is full of unburnt fuel and oxygen, the o2 sensor sees this as a false lean condition.

If it smells rich, and computer shows dead lean, probably a missfire.

I had similar problem, open headers on my friends 381 LT1, o2's were about 6 inches back inside the header tubes. At closed loop idle, the exhaust pulses sucked oxygen back into the headers, and the 02 picked it up as lean. it smelled pig rich and black smoke rolling, just like you, fuel trim maxed out 160.

somehow excess oxygen is getting in there.

your sig says 1993 trans am, those were single wire o2's wernt they? you might need heated o2's. I just did a ls1 t56 swap into a 1989 rs, he has long tube stainless headers and mistakenly bought a single wire o2... it wont heat up at all at idle, and during deceleration it cools off as well. when they are cold, it reads a lean condition.

with completely cold engine, start it up for about 5 or 10 seconds, then pop the hood and feel each header tube, find the cold one, find the miss.

good luck

Yeah I check for a miss..I put on heated 02's and they are going into closed loop. I will check for a cold tube.. I got my rr's adj. last night, 3 were way too tight, and 4 were way too loose. no more ticking now..
car seems to be running awesome, I can actually feel a diff. now that the rr's were adj. there is not much stumbling anymore, just alittle cam surge. If no misses, than I just need to get my tune alittle better, I am set to have my car dynotuned in mid June by Keith MCcord he is coming up in KC. one of the best around, figured I would just get it done right, and don't spend anymore money guessing on mail order tunes..
