new cam is in.. now i have a very large BLM split at cruise?
i installed my XE 224/230 110 LSA a few days ago and it seems to be doing great... nice cam definitely except for a couple things. first off i have a mail order tune so its not the greatest but itll do for my application. right now i have some low end cam surge that i cant get to clear up with timing adjustments down low... dunno what else to do with that. now more importantly i am seeing BLMs of 128/115 in cell 10 cruising! i have tried everything to fix this problem like moving around injectors, searching for vacuum leaks, resetting my valves and checking my plugs/wires. i have no hesitation or misfire and in cell 06 BLMs are 123/122.. cell 14 they are 130/128... both cells within a few hundred RPMs of cell 10 while cruising in 6th gear. idle i am seeing a split in the opposite(more ordinary) direction of cell 10 being 128/140 which was to be expected. anybody gotta clue about this cell 10 split? i am lost at this point.
I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. I've seen similar splits with my car. I did notice that when I increased the injector constant, which raised all of my BLMs, that the split decreased. As long as you aren't too close to 108 or 160 and you've checked out all reasonable mechanical issues, who cares. At what RPM are you seeing the cam surge? Just curious since I have a similar cam but with a much wider LSA. Mine is 100% surge free from 1500 on up, but below that it sometimes surges a little (not bad though).
