needs help

just to set things straight, i am not a complete idiot. but i have no idea where to even begin with tuning. i have played with a holley commander 950 before but this is like nowhere near that. i have a 1996 vette that i am going to attempt to tune with my new jet DST and wideband ready to go. but seeing as how the dst is nothing even close to the holley program i have no idea where to start. i have copied the current tune to my computer and saved it. i created another copy of the file to murder. i have tried reading as much as i could find but there really isn't any specific instructions. i don't want to hear get it dyno tuned cause i don't have that option.

What do you want out of the tuning experience?

What kind of car/mods you have (no signature) your ID sounds like a 94 (ODB1). You can start with the basics below. I started at ground zero over a year of reading and studying and I still have a much more to learn. The the more complex info for fuel management and timing is available in forums, lots of searching and reading. For a beginner I would stick to MAF tuning and only think about SD when you get more comfortable. I solicited tunes from other readers and then cut, pasted, studied & re-engineered the best parts into a unique custom tune that fit my application. Because of mods, trannys, gearing, tires, induction, exhaust, heads, and boring differences no two tunes are alike.

Definitely need some added insight on whether the engine is stock or modified.

I have to say, the people that have posted want to help you but we have no idea where to start to help.

What are the issues?

Also, make a signature with some details.

You are in the right place for help. I have tuned 2 strokers myself so I (as well as many others) can help but first you need to help us.

Its really hard to help people when they don't want to provide the required info. It shouldn't be this difficult.

i read an article that seems to be what i am looking for. its in this link http://www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic...7ada73b1bbea2d. i don't see what me telling you info on my setup aside from that its a stroker and has a larger cam then my previous setup will do lead me in the right direction to start adding fuel to a specific table seeing as how there is a laundry list of variables just in the fueling tables. or for any other things i would need to start changing. i would pm you my info if its a necessity but would prefer not laying it all out, not trying to be rude. i have a tune from my last setup so i would imagine that the spark tables should be fairly close and i have gone through the constants already and made changes specific to my setup ie cubic inches and injectors. but everything else was already set to what was in the above links. that bobdec posted. i haven't read all the way through the 25 page download but am working on it and i guess i will post questions from there.
