Need as much info as possible on Tunercat and tuning- opinion, links etc.

Hey guys I have been in touch with the guys over at Tunercat and I will be ordering their tuning software and definition file for my ECM the first of next week. In the meantime I want to learn as much as I can about what I'm getting into. I already have access to TTS datamaster and a laptop. I need opinions and tips from people who have tuned before, whether it's on tunercat or otherwise. Also some links and good reading would be very helpful. I will have help from a buddy of mine that has tuned 600+rwhp blown mustangs, but I would really like to do the research on this and see what I can do.

The first question on my mind is- how much tuning can I actually do without a wideband? I am fully aware at how much the stock oxygen sensor sucks for tuning, and cannot be relied upon for dialing in A/F ratios. I am also pretty sure that from looking at my A/F ration on datamaster the car is still running very rich. Even after the mail order tune my oxygen sensor is still reporting in the 900mV range. I feel like I'll be limited without a wideband, but I need to do some tuning while I save money for either a dyno session or some type of wideband I can use.

Thanks for all the help
John

You can learn alot about tuning from the third gen guys over at thirdgen.org. Traxion has a bunch of good information over there.
You have to remember that your car will probably run a little rich at idle if you have a somewhat rough idle. You are missing because of the lope and the O2 is seeing the unburnt fuel. It should go back to normal 128blm after it smooths out.

Here's a good one to read;
