Need help deciding ECU upgrade path..

I'm switching gears so I figure now is the time to upgrade the computer. I currently have a 97 M6. I plan on running boost later so I am thinking OBDII w/LT1Edit will not be enough due to it's MAF limitation. So my questions are:

1) Will OBDI Conversion with TunerCat/LT1Edit allow me to run high boost later? What limitations should I still expect?

2) Should I just use OBDII w/LT1Edit now and then add some kind of other computer to it later? If so what and how will they interface together and what will be left of the OBDII system?

3) If I do OBDI conversion where is the best place to get an OBDI ECU/PCM from?

The car is a street car so I would need all the stock gauges to work with any aftermarket computer install. Any advice would be helpful.
