mod pcm by soldering resistor

Is there anybody still active on here that can explain the solder procedure to me ?I have seen the visual example pic from 5/15/07 but would appreciate a few words of wisdom ! Thanks !

Do you mean for the purpose of using a PCM with a non-compatible knock sensor? If so what year PCM and what resistance knock sensor?
