That's correct, you can contact me and I'll tell you what parameters (PIDS) to record with the PCM scanner. This would include the long term fuel trims, timing, MAF, MAP, knock, misfire, speed, RPM, etc, about 20 PIDs.

With the scanner in record mode then you go for about a 10 mile drive, use all the different engine conditions so the the scanner records them and from all that data I designed a program that takes all that recorded data and from that I know exactly what the engine was doing for all those conditions and then layer tune ( tune for each condition such as Idle (A/C on and off) part throttle, WOT, shifting, etc so this way the tune covers all RPM ranges and conditions. You can use lower gears to record what happens at high RPMs and engine loads, pop the rev limiter and being your PCM is a dyno from that data would know what the HP and torque is.

I have been tuning since mid 1990s with the older cars that have a ECM and used a E-prom and then was a early BETA tester when LS1edit came out about 3 years ago.
I have tuned about 400 LS1/LS6 cars.

so when someone installs a torque converter do you shut the torque management off? if not how do you adjust the pcm for the converter? your site says you can disable tq management.

The PCM has tables and values for max torque, traction control and for auto trannie an abuse mode.

All 3 are tuned then for the makeup of the car mods and how the owner wants these functions to operate.
You can raise the values so that adding torque does not trip what the stock values were, detune them so they do not trip as easy or can turn certain functions off such as abuse mode which when it sees severe wheel sping unlocks the T.C, yanks timing and can turn 4 injectors off.

There are tables that allow depending on RPMs what max torque is allowed so you can taylor throughout engine load when you rather have PCM pull timing to reduce wheel spin or set higher values so you now control spin with gas pedal position.

Yes all of these functions can be turned off but that does then put more stress on the drivetrain
