Lightbulb MAF delete?

If I send the PCM to be re-tuned(ex. MadZ28) can I have the MAF tuned out even though it is a 96? Do I gain or lose anything by doing this?

Thats not possible. Car wont run without MAF. You can descreen it but that about it.

http://www.madtuner.com/order.php It has a speed density option but i dont know if its just for 93 cars. I want to switch mine over to not have the MAF and still be on OBDII. Any help is appreciated here.

Unplug the MAF and your running in Speed Density mode, check engine light will come on until you tell the PCM to ignore the MAF. That's it.

If the car doesnt run with the MAF unplugged then you either have something wrong or you modified the engine (cam swap) to the point where the base SD calibration is no longer valid.

A good test to see how far off your base tune is just unplug the MAF and see how it runs. A better test would be disconnect the battery for awhile and unpug the MAF then reconnect the battery then start it up. This way the PCM losses all the BLM's and runs purely off the SD tables, once Closed loop sets in it will fix up some minor errors in the base tune but it can only adjust a certain amount.
