(M6) Trouble shifting to reverse, electrical/computer???

I installed headers this past weekend on my Z. After everything was all done, I was going to go on my first test run with the new headers and could not shift into reverse. There was a lot of tension blocking me from going into reverse, but with a lot of force it would finally go in. It just doesn't feel right. Does anyone know if it is an electrical problem???

when i put an automatic program into my M6, i had to muscle it into reverse. it also had NO lockout for reverse while i was moving. i put my M6 program back in and it was fine again. not sure what setting caused the problem, though.

I did have some computer work done this weekend. I had to have the VIN# changed to unlock a hypertech. The VIN# installed was from an automatic. I'll have to see if that is the VIN# listed is still in my car's computer. I had my original VIN replaced when I was finished.

this could be your problem. if any of the Tranny tables are still in there, they could be causing the problem.

*ding* *ding* *ding* ---- and we have a winner.

Unless you accidently unhooked the reverse lockout solenoid from the tranny, I'd say you found your problem.
