LT1 Highway Mode

Hey I'm thinking about getting an a4 trans am and i was wondering if you could enable "highway mode" on lt1 cars like you can on thirdgens. From what I understand it's when the car is in a cruising part throttle position and the air/fuel ratio is leaned out they can do this because of the egr kicking in which makes the engine less likely to detonate. This has given people upwards of 6mpg on the highway. Has anybody done this with a lt1? Is it even possible?

Thanks,

Scott

The PCM automatically cycles the EGR and adjusts fueling and timing to suit during part throttle cruise conditions.
