LT1 edit w/ PCM For Less
LT1 edit w/ PCM For Less
I have a 2800 stall converteer. The car will not shift 2-3 WOT(bangs rev limiter). Very well known racing tranny shop says RPM's are way off. There diag equipment was hooked to the car on a test run, was actuallyreading 400-500 rpm's higher. They say to change the stall of the converter to 3200 in the pcm. A buddy of mine has LT1 edit, what will I need to change the stall if it is possible. Please help want to race on Sat. I have pcm 4 less prog done to the car. It is a 2800 yank out of the box but the shop said feel more like 3200-3500 range. Sorry for the long post just wnted to give all the info. TIA
Is it the 2-3 or really, the 1-2 shift you're having a problem with? Many OBD1 automatics (94-95) have this problem at WOT and the fix is known by a few and being tested by the rest of us. It has something to do with adjusting the gearing for the trans table in LT1 edit. I haven't found positive proof yet as to what you should do for sure. That is, IF it's a 1-2 problem, not a 2-3.
If it is a 2-3 shift problem, lower your WOT mph value for that shift in the regular and Hot tables in Edit by 5 mph and see if it goes away. That should shift it, based on your RPM shift point, regardless of what stall you have. There is no magical table to set stall speed in LT1 edit. I can't speak for Tunercat.
