LT1 Edit OBD2 Question

I am thinking about buying lt1 obd2 edit for my 96 TA and was wondering if I can block out the EGR code and smog pump stuff. The check egine light is kinda annyoing. Also have some other questions about it, just want to get some info before I drop 600 bucks.

Thanks

Yes you can. Myself and all my friends here run like that and remove the equipment.

Hey do any of you guys know if you can pass the computer emissions test with them programmed out? I have heard that they can tell that it has been changed and you will fail? If it will work I want to get Edit but I dont want it if I cant even do that.

Thanks,
Rich

I believe that you can tell if the test has been passed, failed or if it's even run. So if you disable the EGR and AIR, I belive you can tell. Will you fail because of that, hard to say. Some localities I believe have a limit on the number of tests they can skip.

I believe in Nashville, TN it's three tests. So you could get away with disabling three systems. I guess...

Not 100% sure though.

Did any of you guys that have edit, learn to use it on your own or did you know someone that helped you with it? I can go to a shop and buy in for 350.00 but then I would have to do things around the shops time which would be a little tough considering the hours I work. I would like to just pay more and get it for myself but Im not sure how tough it is to work with?

Thanks again,
Rich

I bought it for myself and am in the process of learning it.

It's not that difficult to work with, but there's a lot to it.

The LT1 Edit archive comes in REALLY handy!!!

The LT1 Edit mailing list is there for some help too...

IMO, there is NO alternative to being able to do it yourself...
