Re: LT1 Edit, how do I turn off EGR

Not sure how to do it with LT1 Edit. In Tunercat constants table you set the following four settings to 0 ...EGR Disable High RPM Threshold, EGR Disable Low RPM Threshold, EGR Enable High RPM Threshold and EGR Enable Low RPM Threshold. Hopefully LT1 Edit has the same capability..

Bobdec (or anyone else who knows):
An EGR related question.
When EGR is activated, other than opening the valve and adding some spark advance, does the PCM do anything else?

Nothing else that I know of. Unfortunately not a lot documentation on this stuff. Good thing we have forums to discuss how this magic in the PCM happens.

bobdec:
Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure about it. I knew of the ability to disable in the switch and constant tables but didn't want to change them. Though I haven't read of it being done, I've wondered when the enviro-patrol software writers will start checking for non-factory settings of enviro device/procedure flags and parms in their software for mv inspections.

Re: LT1 Edit, how do I turn off EGR

Before I added the LT headers I played with turning off EGR completely, and then experimented with changing the enable/disable RPM ranges. I never felt any difference in performance so I left it enabled at stock settings. EGR only runs between 1000 and 2100 RPM and at cruising MAP ranges so it's not there when you get on to the throttle, are at idle, nor during deceleration . I had to disable it when I added the non air LT headers. If I had a choice I would have left it alone to keep the air a little cleaner.

Cool Re: LT1 Edit, how do I turn off EGR

OK, I did that, LT1 Edit had similar tables. I finally did a datalog and then used VE master to help me tune. Seemed work so far. I am not a computer guy, but am learning a lot from this sight. Thanks for all the help people. I am sure I will be posting more questions(problems) in the future. Ray
