LT1 edit help

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone out there is famaliar with LT1 edit. I have software for programming and the logging scanner. The only thing I have altered is timing, fans and shift firmness.

Put it this way, some of tables and numbers look like a foreign language to me. I have found links on the web (not to many helpful) but if someone could explain what some of the commonly used things on LT1 edit do and how and why to change them.

I know dyno tuning is the best, but are there certain tables that if one were to go to the track and slowly change the numbers in increments until times improve?
