LT1 Edit A4/ shiftpoints
LT1 Edit A4/ shiftpoints
Went to the track today and was distressed when my car banged off the rev limiter on 4 of 5 of my runs. I hav e a 95 Z28 a4. with a 2800 stall converter, 3.73 gears, and stock motor(only boltons without removing the valve covers) . My rev limiter is set at 6200 RPM w/ Lt1 edit. as well as the top speed being at 255. My shift points up till now have not been changed. I'm pretty sure the rev limiter was hit on the 1-2 shift. any one have the same problem and if so how did you fix it? Thanx.
Ps: my best run last year after the converter was 13.29 @ 103.98. With no problem. But it was right after having the converter install and I was launching lightly from 1700-2000 RPM with a 60' of 1.9
today my bet run launching lightly(the same way I did before) was 13.30 at 104mph w/ 60' of 1.8
all of the rev limited runs were veriing times w/ 60' of 1.7 and 1.8

If you look under kick down mode you can adjust the mph and the rpm at which the transmission will shift. I'm pretty sure that your PCM is seeing the rpm value way before the mph value. This is what was causing mine to bang the rev limiter after I went to a higher stall converter. You can always just lower the mph value until it shifts everytime.
yeah, thanx. that's pretty much what Jason Shifflet at F-body Central was telling me, too. I think what I may do is lowwer the mph 2 mph and see how that helps. It's weird that this si the first time it has done this. Even though it is the first time i have really lauched almost WOT since the converter install. thanx for responding.
