LT1 Edit ???
Finally got my Lt1 Edit program files up and running. I was using a Hypertech power programmer before. When I saved the stock LT1 file to send to Carputing I also saved an .LT1 file of the car with the HPP programming and one with only fan temp, gear change and Automatic transmission shift firmness. I saved each as a seperate .LT1 file. My question is this (and I know some one is going to say "why", but here goes):
Can I load the hypertech file and tune the car with it without damaging my car? Or do I have to start with the stock file and modify it to be similar to the Hypertech programming? If I can how do I do that?
Also, If I can use the HPP .LT1 file and I go to the track to do a comparisson, can I then just simply load the other HPP file that I saved (the one with the shiftfirmness, fan temp, and gear change - tuning) and do a run with it tuned that way(for comparison sake)simply by loading the file? or is there more to it?
My goal is to see what if anything the HPP actually did or didn't do to help HP wise. And if there is anything useful in the HPP programming then I can fine tune it from there.

You can just load them up and do all the comparison shopping you want. No problems.
Hope this helps

It does. I was reading thier web page and wanted to confirm that it was ok to do that. Thanx, below is a better explaination of what I read:
4. The Basics - For both Stock and Modified Motors
As mentioned earlier, this software does some great things for stock motors - everything the competition can do, but at a better price. Plus it gets you ready for when you get the itch for a bigger cam, heads, headers, etc... (I never thought I'd do a cam, but the LT4 HOT kit is sitting on my shelf waiting to be installed now!) What if you already have some sort of programmer? Buy our software, make a backup of your PCM's modified program to disk using our software (yes, you can do that!), put your original program back in to your PCM from the device, reprogram the PCM using our software with the file you just copied out of it, and sell your device to someone else! That way, our software (and hardware) basically costs you nothing. ;^)
Cool!!!!!
