LS1 Edit

Heres the deal : Me and 2 of my friends want to get ls1 edit. Were gonna buy one and add vin #'s. We figured it out to be 250 each. Now a dyno tune around here cost 450 alone. What I would like to know is how complicated is this program ? Because this winter i plan on headers, gears , torque converter and maybe a hot cam. Would it be a good idea to get an AEM Wideban 02 gauge ? I could also get the afr froma dyno (3 pulls within an hour for 100$). Any ideas ?

Re: LS1 Edit

LS1-Edit isn't too complicated, but like anything with more options gives you more opportunity to get yourself in trouble.

What model years are all three cars? HPTuner's lets you read/write all models of the same year, and scan all LSx years. So if you bought it for your car, you could do the same thing for any other 2001 F-body. Better functionality and support than LS1-Edit. It may not match your budget.

EFILive's FlashScan should be out soon but I've not read much about it. I've heard you get the first two VIN's included.

Air fuel gauge won't do any good without the wideband unless all you're concerned about is your AFR at part throttle. Wideband without proper load capability isn't the best solution, but satisfactory for many. Most dynos can give you the AFR readings, so no need to spend money on the gauge.

Re: LS1 Edit

have you read about the new dynojet wideband ?? It comes with a program to load onto your pc and you get graphs of your AFR. Im looking into that.... But all 3 cars are all different years (98,99, 01).
